    When it nearly hits 70 in late December in New Jersey, its time for a mid-winter bath. During the bath sequence, I caught the Mallard Drake with wings in this position. Looks like angel's wings to me.

    Canon 50D; Canon 300mm f/2.8 w/ 2x TC; tripod-mounted

    1/1000 sec @ f/7.1; ISO 400; 0 EV; FL 600mm (EFL 960mm)

    Nice control of the whites, and I like the flying water drops. I wish the duck was angled more towards us and that the light streak on the face also covered the eye area. Perhaps some fill would have helped with the face. I wouldn't mind more room above if you have it.

    Hi Ed. I agree with Daniel's suggestions. It'd be nice to see the sun lighting up the blue on the far wing too.

    I like the action a lot Ed but have to agree with Daniel about composition and angle.
