Hope you all enjoyed the cristmas holidays so far and had fun with your friends and family. I know I have!!! Here in Holland we ran into a streak of extremely nice weather which Jasper and I took advantage off today. Due to the frost only small patches of water are still available for these ducks which gave us the oppertunity to get some long sought after shots of the Northern Pintail. Hope you like it.

Very nice pose and details in this one Krijn. I have a couple of these near home but haven't been able to get close yet.

Nice job on the pose and sharpness. I wouldn't have minded an even lower angle if it was at all possible at that location, and maybe more room right and top. I love the surrounding icy waters :-)

Lovely light, pose and sharpness in the details. I may try and lighten some of the darker spots in the BG.

Krijn I hope that you enjoy the hollidays and wish you a happy 2009!. This drake is fantastic. The light is to die for and the pose is really interesting with the tail spread and the head pointing up. Superb eye contact and details. A lower angle would be nice but I am sure that you couldn´t get low. Very good job and enjoy the nice wheater.

Hey Krijn, nice work! It have indeed been a lovely few days here. I love the pose and details you got on this pintail. I'm wondering if your image would get a more balanced composition when the bird would be more centered in the frame. You would then get the tail and the beak pointing nicely into each corner.
Congrats on your new camera and best wishes for the new year.
