My local bird guy told me the finches had a ton of food in the wild this spring and summer and that's why I wasn't seeing any at my feeders. This last winter storm brought them in - finally - and I had thirteen goldfinches eating at my patio table as well as some down below on the finch feeder. Winter must officially be here!
I can't wait until their full colors come in complete with those black tophats! They are such a fun bird to watch...
