    Sorry Mike but this one just doesn't work. It's out of focus and the bird is too centered in the frame. On a more positive note, you've had a much improved series of photos lately.

    Hi Mike,
    I agree with Doug in reference to the entire bird being out of focus; there is so much that you can to when you have an image like this...the woodpecker is also dead center in frame. I modified your composition just to show you a different angle that you can take for your next one, when you are framing and composing in camera...:cool:

    Hi Mike Not sure what happened with this one could have been motion blur? When working with the usual low shutter speeds because of the light it happens. btw how much of a crop was the original? With lots all little imperfections surface big time !!!

    hi, yeah i guess i did itagain. tried to get too much outof too little. i won't post anymore until i get some good pictures of at least one of the 3 types of wren that are here about. that will be my next big project. i'll definitely try for at least 1/320 s. shutter.
    thanks for all of your input on my red bellied wp. sorry about the close-up attempt.

    Try at least 1/500 sec, Mike. Bump up the ISO if necessary. Also try the flash -full blast or not- see if it works for you.
