A Spotted Trunkfish in Bonaire. These guys are usually pretty difficult to get coming toward the camera. He was under an enclosed ledge, and didn't seem to be very concerned, so I was able to really get some detail!

I did selectively darken (linear burn) the background to make it disappear, and sharpened and cropped in CS3.

    Thanks!

Great shot. The texture, details, and colors are outstanding.

Very nice image, as stated the detail and colors look good. I am a certified diver and have been toying with the idea of getting a housing and getting started. Nice to see some underwater shots, keep them coming.

Amy, Your image is beautiful! I'm not sure what the red piece is on the far left but I think the image would be better without it.

    Amy,
I like this image. The eye is interesting. So is the texture on the body of the fish. Darkening the background helps the image pop up. I am sure, removing the red portion near the tail would strengthen the image.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone.

The left-hand side has some coral on it. The fish was under a ledge, and this coral was the only colorful piece of foreground - but I guess if you can't tell what it is, it isn't a very effective part of the photo, huh? Thanks for the feedback.

    Amy,

Looks like you could clone out that coral.

Great detail and lighting. I agree with the idea of going dark in the BG so cloning the coral out is just a continuation of that.
