Well this is my first Morning Dove picture that was not taken with the Dove on the ground lol. Funny thing is that there was a Blue jay right under it on another branch . I have never seen these at my feeder at the same time , the Doves are shy by nature and the Jay's are aggressive so they don't mix.

(Did some branch cloning out and also a Blue Jay )

That's a nice picture Glenn. Nice colours, nice background which is a very nice contrast with the bird, a nice splash of red, sharp and a nice pose. Good one.

I agree with Dave! I can't help thinking if it would be better to have that "spot light" on the head of the dove. Still, as is it gives you a different feel.

    Hi Glenn,
I like your composition and capture. I like the horizontal berry perch, it gives the image a splash of bold color. The image is a tad under exposed...and the criss cross pattern in the background distracts from your main subject. you also have too much negative space on top...I modified your composition by cropping 1/4 from the top to eliminate the negative space, lightened the background, applied some blurring and liquefying to blend it better. I also selective sharpened the face and portions of the wings...see if this presents well with you...

Like the original post Glenn, might take a little off the top, and clone out the branch just to the left. Like the colour of the sumac, looks like you got it just right.

Beautiful! I would definitely not lighten the background, and perhaps only a very little selective brightening on the bird's head. Overall, it ain't broke. Don't "fix" it.

Lovely image. The red of the bird's feet and the red of the sumac are superb together. Exposure and bird's pose are right on. I like the light on the bird with the dark bg. I'd sharpen some for output whether web or print. Personally I'd work on both the crop and getting the bg a bit smoother, less distracting; I think this capture is well worth some additional attention. It's a winner.
