    Default Juvenile Burrowing Owls

Two juvenile burrowing owls sitting on a perch near their burrow on Marco Island. The back (left) owl is not as sharp as I would like. Don't know if I could have gotten him in sharp focus by stopping down or not. Probably should have tried to get two shots to blend. Next time!

    Any and all c/c welcome!

I agree that a sharper back owl would improve the image. Still, nice to get two in one shot. I'd also suggest lightening the owls a tad.

With the ss that you had, you could have stopped down more to get them both in focus....and even gone to a higher ISO if necessary. Always worth trying several settings when you have the time. I do like that you have 2 in one image. Well done.

really a great pair Mike....rare capture.
Might push the sharpening a bit....the back oof owl does well about the head and legs, also brightened the eyes a bit......suggestion IMHO only

    Hi Mike,

I like the composition and eyes on these guys. At 1/2000 sec, looks like you had enough light to photograph at f/8 which will allow you to keep the second owl sharp in the frame.

    Keep them coming!
