This one being a Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel from the Sierras. People typically call these squirrels chipmunks, but we know better!

I like it a lot Kerry With the hands placed at the same plane as the eye both are in sharp focus with the wide aperture Excellent feel I'm sure some will wish for the nose to be sharp but do like it as presented. Fine little critter ..... don't forget whats coming up .. check motifs !!! :)

Cool Kerry and they are def not chips:-) Love it when personality shows, good color too. Personally the nose is just a bit too blurred for me, just a bit, doesn't need to be sharp everything that should be is.

    Hi Kerry,
I like the diagonal pose...the two tone colors in the background are very pleasing and compliments your subject very well. you have sharp details and good color rendition...I like the composition as presented...the only thing needed is a pass of noise reduction in the background...good show...

Kerry, I love the 70-200 lens-it's my favorite for small critters-not sure why the nose is blurred-but it is a cute little guy and there is plenty of focus elsewhere

    Hi Kerry,
Love the pose and you got the focus right on the eyes with the 2.8. Might have bumped up the ISO and gone for more DOF, but his nose does look pretty cute. Love the BG colours and the light reflecting off his fur. What is the BG??

One squirrel species that I have found difficult to photograph - never still, very wary. Well done
