One of your better efforts Mike! Enough light to shoot at f/10 and 1/320 at ISO 640. It's all about the light! I probably would have gone for a faster shutter speed and less DOF because you don't need much DOF to get a bird with a profile pose in focus. There's some cloning artifacting at the bottom of the image. And there's too much tree trunk in the frame. Here's a repost with some additional sharpening, some Shadows/Highlights work, a little lightening of the iris, and a tighter crop. Ideally I'd crop off the bottom and add some canvas up top. Good to see your photos improving!
Very nice Mike,
I like this very much...you have a clean bird with a clean background, the details are good and so is your color rendition...proud of you... Doug's repost takes it over the top...looking forward to your next one Mike...
thanks Doug for the picture i should have made. i guess it is much more experience. thanks for the encouragement that you all have shown.
someone asked me why i shoot in such low light conditions. my answer is, i take the picture when i see the bird. God often shows me in early morning and rainy weather.
you can't argue with God.
