    One of your better efforts Mike! Enough light to shoot at f/10 and 1/320 at ISO 640. It's all about the light! I probably would have gone for a faster shutter speed and less DOF because you don't need much DOF to get a bird with a profile pose in focus. There's some cloning artifacting at the bottom of the image. And there's too much tree trunk in the frame. Here's a repost with some additional sharpening, some Shadows/Highlights work, a little lightening of the iris, and a tighter crop. Ideally I'd crop off the bottom and add some canvas up top. Good to see your photos improving!

    I like this very much...you have a clean bird with a clean background, the details are good and so is your color rendition...proud of you... Doug's repost takes it over the top...looking forward to your next one Mike...:cool:

    thanks Doug for the picture i should have made. i guess it is much more experience. thanks for the encouragement that you all have shown.
    someone asked me why i shoot in such low light conditions. my answer is, i take the picture when i see the bird. God often shows me in early morning and rainy weather.
    you can't argue with God.
