This is quite lovely; love the BKGR and the underwing detail. With birds coming at you, the center of the frame is fine. I think that you could go lighter. Another trick is to make a QM of the stuff in the l-l-c and try a 15 pixel Gaussian blur on it to soften it up....

In addition to Artie's suggestions, I would selectively lighten the eyes. Nice photo!

Great pose, details and BG. I agree regarding it being somewhat dark, especially the eye. I might give it a bit more space if you have.

I like the shot as is. It's definetly not a buzzard. It looks like it's a red-tailed hawk.

Nicely done! Agree that the image could do with some brightening up.

What species? When and where, and how (tech details of exposure).

Beautiful image Giova, just a little work with the previous suggestions and the image would really shine!
Would love to see this one optimized.

Ahem Glenn, this is a buzzard and specifically a Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus) and found in mountain areas in Southern Africa.

Giovanni, sweet image but could be a tad lighter for me.

Lovely Jackal Buzzard, Giovanni - typical Giants Castle. Love the wing position and flared tail. QM l-l-c is shorthand for making a Quickmask selection of the lower left corner - when you exit Quickmask mode this selects everything except what you have painted over with the rubylith overlay so you need to invert the selection to select the l-l-c and then apply the 15 pixel Gaussian Blur. Agree that the image can use some lightening so have tried a version with the suggestions
