I think you got all the attention from the bird. It looks like to me though the light direction was not helping you here. The right side of the bird, especially the white feathers on the cheek area, looks over-exposed while the left eye is hidden in deep shadow. Did you take this photo with the help of a tripod? If you didn't, I guess it would help this shot if you had. On my monitor, unfortunately, this photo does not look as sharp as it could've been. Not sure if it has to do with the shutter speed that you used, or simply something wrong with focusing.

i do use a tripod, and i know i have a problem. when i go through downsizing i get a lot of noise. it isn't there in the 4x6 crop that i use to work on the picture. i have to run more noise control and i think it gets me into trouble.
also when i do a quick mask the photo that recieves the bird never goes back to the right file. i have to look all over for it. i usuallyfind it by looking in windows explorer.
any help would be appreciated.
