Happy Holidays to all in AWF. Hope you all make it down to the landscape/other forums in the New Year!

Not sure this is technically a high key......this from a few days ago at Wako.......grey skies above. This was taken with the lens just above the railing. Canon Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800mm at 300mm at f5.6 and 1/500th of a sec. at ISO 1250. Rotated and cropped slightly to fix CCW lean.
As always comments welcomed and appreciated.
PS Forgot to put in specs.....flash w/better beamer used at full power

    Happy holidays to you, too!

I like the pose and wavelets and wish for a lower angle. I might try to get more details in the shadows.

    Happy Holidays Roman.

Nice comp, colors, and the sharpness looks good.

For me the light spots are a little distracting and around the birds body I see some haloing or artifacts....looks almost like the side effects of the S-H tool.

    Hey Robert,
I did use a little S-H...but I did contract it 1 pixel into the bird........any way to avoid it better?

    Hey Roman,

There are a lot of ways to do this. Usually the easiest is to use a quick mask or layer mask to protect the BG around the bird. Or you can just run the S-H on a layer, apply as mask, then use a soft brush to hide the area just around the bird to get rid of any halos.
Hope this can be useful for you.

    Happy Holidays!
