    This is a Nutria---from South American and introduced in Louisiana over 50 years ago. Now considered a destructive nuisance. Av, 1/350, 5.6, ISO 800, FL 400.
    Their Mammary glands are located on there back instead of the belly to allow young to nurse in the water.

    Hard to believe that some people actually eat 'em. Love those teeth..they really capture the viewer's eyes. ;)

    Hi Kathy Good looking little guy and what nice teeth? Got some from Lake Martin but don't recall the teeth being so bright? Love the crop and detail Not an easy animal to expose !!!

    ..... that other one is toast !!!! Heron sure looks happy ... btw didn't think they could eat them !!!

    Kathy, never saw one before-details look great and love your composition-are the teeth colors naturally that color? Your other shot is amazing-I never saw anything like that-Thanks for sharing these unique photos. Happy Holidays!

    Mean looking Dude Kathy, wonder if he has missed some dental appts:) Exposure and placement in the frame look super. Got the focus right on those sharp looking teeth.

    Maybe we should send him to you Al, you could always gas him and brighten his teeth in PS or in the chair........hmmm maybe PS:)

    The teeth are naturally that color.
    Al the shot of the GBH eating the Nutria was taken at Lake Martin--they seem to have more than their share of these animals.
