This is a Nutria---from South American and introduced in Louisiana over 50 years ago. Now considered a destructive nuisance. Av, 1/350, 5.6, ISO 800, FL 400.
Their Mammary glands are located on there back instead of the belly to allow young to nurse in the water.
Hi Kathy Good looking little guy and what nice teeth? Got some from Lake Martin but don't recall the teeth being so bright? Love the crop and detail Not an easy animal to expose !!!

Kathy, never saw one before-details look great and love your composition-are the teeth colors naturally that color? Your other shot is amazing-I never saw anything like that-Thanks for sharing these unique photos. Happy Holidays!
Mean looking Dude Kathy, wonder if he has missed some dental appts:) Exposure and placement in the frame look super. Got the focus right on those sharp looking teeth.
The teeth are naturally that color.
Al the shot of the GBH eating the Nutria was taken at Lake Martin--they seem to have more than their share of these animals.
