Looks like you paid him money for the pose:) Might be tempted to lighten up the shadow on the perch a bit, and just a bit of sharpening on the eye.

Hi Al: About my garden . . We live at the 3000' level in Southern Arizona directly below Madera Canyon which is recognized as one of the best birding spots in America. http://www.friendsofmaderacanyon.org/BirdList.htm

Most birds up to about 6000', and rarer birds such as the Elegant Trogon usually found at about 6500' with the Flame colored Tanager only found at Madera Kubo B&B approx 5000' usually from April till August, coming early near the end of March in 2008.

In our yard and the immediate area we get about 70 different varieties with birds such as Great horned and different Hawks in the winter. Probably have about 20 to 30 birds every day with most of them Finches, Sparrows, Doves, Curve-billed Thrashers, Gila Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds with different visitors every day.

We have huge water treatment ponds full of waterfowl passing through in the winter months starting now.

For icing on the cake the Sonora Desert Museum (About 30 miles away) has 2 daily rapture free flight displays, plus a great Hummingbird area you can enter and visit with the hummingbirds. Also a huge wire enclosure, about 1/2 acre with about 30 or more different birds flying free.

I could go on boasting about our mostly stick birds that are easy to see but sometimes a challange to photograph.

The weather is a Snow Bird's paradise, many changing from Florida to here because of the hurricanes. We spent over 3 months in Florida circa `89 and loved it. Too bad we were not into birds and photography then.

In the overall picture we have tons of birds in Southern Arizona

    Uncle Gus,
This is a very nice composition. The color rendition is very good. The head angle and eye contact are dead on...The multi toned background is very pleasing...another winner Uncle...congrats..
Happy Holidays to you and your family...:)

Agree to other comments. I would be tempted to crop off a bit from the right though.
