It's been snowing here since last week. I did manage to go photograph some birds last Friday. It appears though that as much as I wish to do it again this week, I'm grounded.

Anyway, allow me to share with you one of my shots taken on Sunday.

    Some tech info: Fujifilm S5 with tamron 17-50 f2.8 @ 29mm, handheld. Manual exposure mode f9 1/125sec ISO 800.

The background is a soccer field near my place. I walked by that tree many times but somehow, I found it looks better in the snow.

For this photo, I intentionally de-saturated the background a bit and enhanced that of the foreground tree. It's nearly full-frame.

Sorry, not a bird in sight.

    Happy Holidays Everyone !!

Desmond, This is SWEET!!!! I love the tree bent like that in the elements-The bare BG trees add alot of depth to the composition-really like the weight of the snow on the tree you can almost feel it-I can still see the texture on the main tree trunk-very nicely done.

I like your composition and the areas you desaturated. It certainly makes the foreground tree that much more dominant and interesting. If this was my image I would crop away half the sky from the top half way down to the tree.
