Its 50D anyday. Very sharp and has a huge advantage over 40D with many additional features.

Got my 50D as soon as it came out. Very nice camera and the quick control screen is very handy. Some have panned this as a "consumer gimmick", but I find it very valuable in real-world shooting conditions i.e, bright sunlight. It is much easier to see the new LCD screen than the small LCD on the top of the camera and more options are available there. Live view is also handy when shooting friends and family.
