Was out in the Flamingo area of Everglades NP.....stalking this keastral............he was very, very skittish. Finally got an opportunity when he grabbed this snack.......not even sure what it is......composed 3 frames.........and tried to move to my left for a slightly better angle........gone! Such is life.......and I plan on giving chase later today.
Canon Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800mm and the 1.4 tele at 1120mm at f8 for 1/2500 sec at ISO 1000 (trying to capture his flight). Cropped from horizontal to vert

Very cool capture, light and details. Too bad he didn't cooperate more for a better angle. Good luck!

I like the action and the perch Roman. Too bad that the angle is not the best.

Bummer on the angle, but very nice in sharpness, exposure, quality of light, and of course the great subject.

Great behavioral shot. Very sharp image. I think a little taken off of the bottom of the perch might put the bird at a slightly better angle.

That's really nice Roman! I like it! I'm afraid to sound really dumb but..... :) What's wrong with the angle? Ah! I can hear you laughing all the way here! :) If anyone would care to explain I'll appreciate it! Cheers!

    Hey Rene',
I guess i beat everyone to it.......If you look at the bird.......it is slightly pointing away from me. It isn't as noticeable......because he is looking back at us. I crept up to him behind a bunch of bushes and exposed 3 frames.....looking through the lens.....I realized that he wasn't parallel to my frame...as I was trying to photograph him for at least 2 hours.....I knew he was fairly skittish.....but decided I had to move to get the perfect angle. First step out to my left.....the bird flew off. Had I been able to move.....the body would have been perfectly parallel to the film/sensor plane with a slight head angle towards me. Not a horrible image......just not great! Next time I will try it with the 2x or the body with the .6 magnification.
