Tom, I like this image. The fact that the image is almost cut in half doesn't bother me in this case. The horizon glow and clouds form enough interest to carry it. I like the road offset the way it is. For my taste I would probably crop a bit off the left side to about where the white dot is in the lower left(personal taste)
Not an easy shot handheld especially keeping a level horizon...

Crops imho are always going to be subjective and to personal taste. In this image I think it would be a mistake to crop the LH as the clouds are very much a V formation pointing towards the sun - to LH crop you would dilute that effect.
