Hmmm, if Al didn't mention snow, I wouldn't know what it is in the background. In fact, I didn't know what I was looking at. On my monitor, the background looks very blue. The whole image has a lot of contrast. The colors don't look like what I would see with my naked eyes. Not until I googled photomatix and Hovenweap did I realize this is a HDR image :o I've seen HDR images that don't look like ones. They look more like other non-HDR photograhs. This one does not seem to fall into that kind, I suppose ;)
Hi Bill,
I like the composition proper; as far as the framing of all the elements go. The snow in the background has a heavy blue cast, and the contrast levels need to come down a bit...
Good One Bill, It makes me want to google Canyon of the Ancients. I like the bit of ice in the fg, the whole place feels cold and dry. I just wonder what is off to the right , the bit of wall exiting the frame leads my eye there for some reason.
Dave
Hi Bill,
You are sure getting some interesting things to photograph. I would add a little more canvas to the right (if you have any) and get rid of the colour cast. Looking forward to more of your travel shots!
