This is not something that I have really had the chance for before at bosque. First for the clean open position alone up on an embankment /road and second for the ruffled feathers.

My normal spot this year, the north corn field, farm loop, November 2008.

    Thanks for looking, critiques welcome.

I will be leading 2 workshops at Bosque in Dec, 2009 with a White Sands NM add on WS for 2 extra days.

I love the colours coming out in the feathers on his back. Complements the background nicely.

    Well done Robert

    Hi Robert,
Gorgeous bird and beautiful background. It looks like a 3D image. I hope to visit bosque one of these days.

Superb ruffle, EXP, BKGR, sharpness, COMP, and subject-to-film plane orientation. And nice, soft light. Way to go.

I like this a lot. Great angle, light, details and BG. The ruffled plumage makes it even more interesting.

    Hey Robert,
Yes to all of the above! Ruffled feather detail put it over the top. One sweet BG.

Robert, the sharpness, BG and light are super, it loks almost a 3D image! I like everything about this image except the leg´s pose. Just a metter of taste but I do not like. Of course, I am sure that you have more images of this guy with different poses and I would love to see another different pose ;-)

Exceptional image. The BG is killer and compliments the great feather detail in the crane.
