After the Great Blue's this is slightly different. These ducks were very active on Saturday and was very lucky to be there. Shot at the Wakohadchee Wetlands with a Canon MK-II ISO = 400 f/11 at 1/1000's 0-Ec Manual Mode 100-400-L at 400-MM.

Thank you all so much and all C/C's welcome and appreciated.

I like the running pose and eye contact but it looks quite soft on my monitor. I might crop some off the bottom, maybe a pano crop?

I do like this but I agree with Axel that it looks soft (though the eye does look sharpened post-fact).

    Hi Bill,

The bird looks soft probably due to the rapid panning and camera shake.

I too like the running pose, but also agree about the softness. I don't often go much above f/8 when shooting flight; the extra speed may have helped sharpen things up some.

Hi bill the repost looks better, the pose, timing and colors are great.

Next chance you have go for less aperture and more SS, go up to 2000th or so (1/1600 min) to get better sharpness with ducks.

To clarify, you meant more (larger) aperture to allow a faster shutter speed.

    Hi Bill,
All techs covered above...........but will add.........I do like the way the head slightly peeks out from behind the wing. In flight photography.......speed rules!!!
