    Its only a chickadee, but since its one of my best, I decided to put it up for critiques. The light background is caused by snow.

    Dec. 15, 2008 Canon 40D 400mm 5.6L 1/500s f5.6 ISO 640 partial metering EC 0 hand held

    Very different perch. Detail is wonderful as well as the BG. Maybe need to make the bird just a bit lighter???

    Very nice setting and details. It does look a bit underexposed and I wish for more head turn toward you.

    We have a similar species in my country and they never stay still for long, looks like you done a nice job with this one. Agree with Axel on the head turn but it's still a very nice image..

    Hi Terry,

    I wish the bird was looking at you a bit more. Perhaps some fill flash could make the feather pop a little more.

    Very nice, I like the curled needle ball perch and the sharpness.

    Agree with the lightening and head turn comments.

    Thanks all for your helpful critiques. I can't do much about the head turning except to keep that in mind for the future. I'll work on the lightening.
