Nonda, I like images like this. If it were mine I would clone out the birds in sky-(I know because I already got my lashes for that!) I like the placement of the tree and the reflection it creates- the stillness of the water is very nice also- The sky is soft w/ hints of pink-might be worth trying to pull some of that pink out. Nice shot-Love it!
Hi Nonda,
I like the composition as presented...you have good color rendition and a lovely reflection from the tree; which by the way is placed just right in frame...congrats...well done...
Thanks folks, going out and try this one again, I hope, this spring. Standing above it all and looking down is really special, that is the image I want, just can't quite get it.
sorry....felt the need to at least try this.....converted to tinted and added a little red and yellow....followed by the gradient tool in the sky....and a little contrast boost.
it's just an idea and a matter of taste. it's a real peaceful scene and i was kinda drawn to it. thanks for letting me play!!
Hi Nonda I like the enhancements Harold did The original is nicely composed, good subject but lacks contrast and detail in the trees. Just a feel difficult to explain. The re post does help out the contrast !!
I like the serenity of your original. The colours depicit a beautiful lake in the midst of a peaceful country side, all it needs is Huckleberry Finn with a piece of straw in his mouth lazing back with his fishing pole beside him.
Ian,,HDR is WAY beyond anything I would even attempt!
I'm glad I captured the peaceful part, since it really is,but only in early spring. The willow leafs early so stands out from the hills. After that the willow blends in with the green of the hills and there is lots of boats and folks.
Lovely image. I like Denise's idea of trying to boast the color in the sky just a bit. I am sure you already tried this, but if not, see if you like the image any better with a pano view by cropping the top. Just an idea.
Gail
Gail I actually tried boosting the sky and ended up with a mess, my PP skills are pretty limited especially when it comes to images like the one above:o
Hi Nonda,
Oh, oh.....here comes the landscape mod:eek:! Don't worry... I have good news......and some bad..........but we will get to that in a bit. Your comp is great!!!.....position of the tree in the frame.....subtle roll of the hills........amount of water and sky......right on!
Now.....the things to work on that you can control.......earlier, earlier, earlier.....or later, later, later. In landscapes the #1 thing that seperates the ordinary from extrordinary........is light. 1/2 before sunrise to about 1 hour after....or 1 hour before sunset to 1/2 hour after are migical times for landscapes. This light is what generally seperates good from great images. Usually only exceptions are storms/clouds/rain/snow.......these can also make a landscape something more.
Good news again.....you are composing images very well....which is often the hardest part for me to teach....so on that, you are ahead of the curve......just persistance and lack of sleep......are all that is needed to put the finishing touch on your landscapes! Be forewarned.....even going out at those times.....you miss more than you succed......but there is no better place to be at those times.......enjoying the outdoors!
Huh Roman that was exactly my thoughts as in utoh not HIM:D I do appreciate your advice and I'm SUPER glad the comp is ok, light is doable with a bit of planning. It is being a single item person, a single bird, flower etc. and not being able to put it together with multiples that has always drove me nuts. Maybe there is hope yet!!!!
