Lucky me to be here in the Gallery at the right time :)

The ever elusive NPO, you make me so jealous!

Lovely background and perch, typical of what you described as their behavior, don't worry, I'll be back to get them! Lovely fluff ball.

Very happy you're posting in BPN :)

    Mike,
This is a very nice image.

Lot of details in the image. I like the sharpness, dof, background. Good one.
    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Sweet, cute, and well done. The complimentary background is so pretty.

I got this owl just a few miles from my house in Northwestern Wyoming. I was out looking at sheep with Dale Franz and always watching for the incidental otter or owl. When you get them, they are pretty easy to approach and photograph. You don't get to choose the perch or background very often, so I was very lucky that this guy perched where he did. I was able to bet several nice but different bg's on this one owl. Incidently, you can identify individuals by the different spot patterns on the forehead.

Very nice Mike, a quality shot and considering the 2xTC, pretty nice sharpness. Colours are excellent.

Excellent species. I kinda wish you had pointed your lens a little lower...or taken as vertical (did take some in that orientation too?). I would also darken the lower part of the perch. Otherwise this is pretty darn good :-)
