Inside Yellowstone National Park, with Judy and Dale Franz, thanks to Judy for letting me use her 600. I was too chicken to fly with the 600 and the 200-400 :o
As it is, we almost got kicked out of the plane
Fabs,
This is a unique perspective. The crop works. It gives a feeling that the bald eagle is sitting very up in the tree. It talks about the stark weather, and the eagles relationship with the habitat. It works for me.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi
Sorry but it does nothing for me, as the subject is to small to hold interest.
I would have liked the eagle looking into the frame, rather than out of it..
Almost posted this myself Fabs but glad you did... I must disagree strongly with Mr Fisher. This is obviously not a bird on stick portrait but an animalscape/birdscape a much more difficult image to pull off successfully. Here you have mood with the falling snow, a pyramid shape of the dead pine which is an extremely strong graphical compostion tool and the bird at the upper left power point in accordance to the Golden Mean.. I might have liked the bird looking into the frame and I know you have it.. I like the image very much...
Dale, I have the BE looking into the picture, but it looks as though it's looking to the tree. I though it was OK to break the rule, since there is something of interest behind the bird, IMO it balances the pose and portrays what the BE would do, look into the distance.
Of course, it's subjective and a matter of taste.
I value everyone's input, thanks again :)
Since this is the view most people see a eagle in the first, it works for me too. It looks natural. This could have been Alaska, Yellowstone or anywhere else eagles live. Excelent image.
