    Default Long Eared Owl Flight

On a cold day with some help from my friends I was lucky to grab a shot of the LEO flying by, in his natural habitat.

    Shot with Canon MIII, 500mm f4, handheld, 1/1250, f7.1, ISO 400.

    Thanks for looking :)

Love the wings-down pose and the eye contact. Sharpness and exposure are excellent. The tall OOF tree is a bit distracting to me. Thanks for posting.

Bill, this is pretty sweet, not an easy target. Congrats. Of course, both eyes would be sweeter:)

Great pose and light. About the OOF tree, I wish it was not merging with the bird, rather to one side of it, for a stronger compo.

This is a bird that is high on my wish list, and I do not recall ever seeing an image of one in flight. Yes, the oof tree isn't ideal, but I would be happy none-the-less.

Cool incoming pose and that big eye makes it for me. I agree with Fabs regarding the OOF tree.
