Here a quote from my wife: "You're nuts" Because to create this image I had to leave home at 2h30 am with 2 hours sleep at -19C (-2F), drive 4 hours up north, dig my self a spot in 9 feet's of snow and wait 6 hours in my hide at -24C (-11F) and finally drive back home and thinking that I had forgot to eat...

For her I'm crazy but with a different perspective I'm just a other birds photographer... :D

    Thanks for reading!

Beautiful image, I like the light, setting, BG, pose and details. Well worth the effort, but then, maybe I'm nuts, too, and your wife is right. :)

Stunning image. Great pose, perch, sharpness, and BG. Bleeding edge whites that are not blown and good detail in the darks. For sure I'm nuts too.

I'm very impressed with the image Francis. It seems you have all the technical details such as composition, exposure, sharpness etc, spot on. I am also impressed that your camera batteries lasted for all that time in the blind!

Would be nice to see the exposure details.

Just fantastic! Only thing that would make it better for me is if the perch wasnt broken and extended through the image.

Incredible shot. Fantastic. I'd drive 20 hours for this. I love the light, perch, detail, colors - this one's got it all. PM sent
