Back from the trip to south africa, I want to show this picture from an african Jackass Pinguin. I made the image at quarter past five in the morning and for me it was worth the early getting up.....

Nice one Rosl! Beautiful composition, and you waited for the right time as far as the sun/clouds relation goes. What I really like here is the backlit feathers on the bird below the mountain line...gives a sense of proximity to your subject.

Great composition and mood and I agree with Daniel regarding the backlit feathers. I look forward to more images from your trip.

Yes, I also like the rim light bellow the mountain, separating the bird from the land. Well done!

Well done, Rosl. Glad to see you got to the penguins early. Little bit of rim lighting as mentioned really makes it. Looks like a juvenile bird. Did you try one with flash?

Thank you for looking at my picture and writing your gentle words!
Tony, I also have some images with flash. They look fine too. I'll show you one of them in the next days :-))
