Default LP-E6 Batteries for 5D Mark II

Ok, so I have a 5DII and need some spare batteries. I can't find any in stock. Anyone know of a source?

The battery is 7.4 volt and the same size as the BP511A which has almost as much amp-hours. Why couldn't they make the 5DII BP511 compatible too?

The old batteries were 1390 MAh, and the new ones for the 5D II are 1800 MAh, largely because the video mode sucks up power like its nobody's business. However, why they couldn't make it the same SHAPE and SIZE is beyond me. Engineers are crazy?

On the bright side, at least they didn't pull a Nikon and come out with a different battery that was indistinguishable in shape and size (granted, not in color--black verus gray) until it gets stuck inside the compartment.
The D80's battery looks just like the D70's, but if you put the black battery in the D80, it gets stuck and can't be removed without sending it in to have it professionally disassembled! And in a school environment (University of Missouri) it happens more often than I'd like to talk about. The solution has been to pull all of the black batteries from circulation. It's crazy...
