A beautiful looking creature. I like the composition in the frame but the OOF brush FG right is a bit distracting. The nose also has a hot spot on it.

Beautifully captured Dale and I particularly like the mood of this image. Great pose and excellent eye contact as well as a lovely composition. Really like it as posted.

Impressive antlers. Its a personal preference that I always shoot through the vegetation. I guess the hot spot on the nose can be corrected in pp.

I like it as presented The way the oof is presented looks very appealing and like way it frames the buck without being in the way of critical parts. Excellent image Dale !!!

I love including OOF foreground as long as it doesn't intrude (sometimes even if :)), but I know they are not for everyone. I also like as presented, not your typical portrait, but hey, who wants to be typical ;)

Alfred, Fabs, and Judy. This is the type of image that will usally be trashed on the forums but I know from 25 years of marketing mule deer images that this image will be a big seller for me.. I have a version with a bit more room on the top of the frame that will very likely make a magazine cover for me this fall... Fun to show them though!

Sab... l love well done wildlife images through the vegetation. It really gives you a sense of what you see in the wild most of the time....

Interesting looking buck. His face seems a little small for the massive neck and antlers compared to others I've seen. I like the investigative peek he's giving. It's also interesting to read your comments on the OOF bushes.

Steve this is an unusually large mature buck of the size that very few people would ever see. During the peak of the rut the bucks neck swell from hormones. Usually lasts only 1 or 2 weeks.
