    Hi, Photographed in my yard on Cholla Cactus in Green Valley, AZ, 1/16/2008 93 AM using Olympus E-510 IS, Zuiko 70-300 1:4-5.6 ED (140-600 equiv) Hand Held at Focal Length 190mm, manual 1/400 F/10, Auto WB, Cropped, Resized ,Sharpen Edges, Reduced to under 150 in CS3. With warmer weather, 70 F, more birds appearing weekly. Aztec Thrush spotted upper reaches of Madera Canyon this week by numerous birders. Gus Hallgren

    Hi Gus,

    Nice bright colors and very nice color and feather detail on the finch, also like how the bird seems to be so daintily perched in the cactus. Probably the main issue is the angle, shooting up isn't going to give as nice an image as level, easier said than done I know:)

    Color wise the sky looks a bit over saturated.

    Lots to look at in this image and it being nice and sharp is super!

    Very nice shot Gus, I like the catch light in the eye.

    I am also jelious of the warm temp and nice blue sky:):)
