The last morning on Bonaire, we had a rain shower and a great rainbow afterward. This pelican was sitting so nicely on the seawall. Unfortunately, there was a lounge chair back just in front of the wall, and he was sitting with his feet on the other side of the wall. So, I shot for a portrait, and left out the legs.... Any other angle included boats in the background, as well. But how could I resist the background???

Beautiful Amy. Exposure looks terrific and the BG almost out of a movie set. Too bad you couldn't get all of him!!

With that rainbow sure wish you could have gotten the entire bird With a tighter crop not sure the bg would look as good

Excellent light on the bird, fine detail and feel !!! Excellent !! ..... btw did you do any goat portrait? :)

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. Yes - I wish I'd had more time before he flew off (got a great "The End" shot though). Unfortunately, I had someone come up and start asking questions about my lens, etc., and was a little distracted - and then he flew.

I do have some photos with his feet on the wall, but his pose is not as nice as this. I will post another one when I can post again.
