    Default Pintail Take Off

It has been cold here for a few days; all the birds are huddled up in any clear water they can find until an eagle flies by, and then they take off. Mostly pintails, a few teal and there is a mallard in there some where.

Hey I see a couple G-wing T's;) i like the one pintail in the center in focus and generally like the image quite a bit. I'm very partial to ducks and the 400f5.6 so maybe a bit biased?:D

Very cool, I like it alot-I'd probably make it into a pano crop by taking some off top- that way your main duck would be center stage

Just about as crazy as it gets. Looks like a Bosque take-off shot! Like the pandemonium of it all and might just take off the small bits intersecting the frame on the left hand side.

I like it Dave !! Did well filling the frame

For these if you catch them blasting makes for an interesting image, you can use a slow shutter speed and have some sharp while others stream away !! These are all about feel and this has a good feeling !!!

I'm torn between the presentation as-is and the the pano suggestion. IAC, I like the pattern.

Thanks for the tips and advice. I am sure I got the idea from one of the BAA books or Bulletins, or perhaps both. Thanks Jackie for mentioning the little bits, I do like to clean that sort of thing up.
