This shoveler is from the past weekend. A cold and rainy saturday, very frustrating because I had a 500VR lens borrowed to a friend and I wished for a better light. This one is one of the best from that day instead of the fact that it is not as sharp as I would like but I love the mood of the scene, the calm of the water, the resting drake, the eye opened looking to me, the small water drops in the back and the simplicity of the composition.
Your comments, critics and ideas are greatly appreciated.:)

You should try living in my country, grey and wet for most of the year... :-)

I like the comp on this and love how his eye really shows up, grads your attention as soon as you look at the image, nice work in the conditions.

Details, contrast and colors look great despite the low light. The eye makes it really interesting but I would crop it a bit tighter.

I too like the mood and the simple composition, Juan. The eye certainly grabs your attention and holds it. Well done.

    Hi Juan,

This is very nice. The eye contact is fantastic. Composition works very well as well. I would not touch a thing. Excellent work!

    Juan,
Great picture, I will never think about this composition, because I will think that the space should be in the left... but the picture shows that my instinct will be wrong. Love the colors and the eye.

    Felicidades, Raul
