Dipper on mountain stream.Rila mountain ,Bulgaria.Canon EOS1D mark 2N + EF 300 2,8 +1,4TC f4.The light angle is not excellent ,but I like very much the white and color circles in FG and BG. All comments are welcomed.Best regards ,Piotr.
Nice low angle, but I think I would have preferred if you had gone up just a bit to give us a clearer view of that great bubbling water - especially below the feet. I don't mind some of the bright circles, but the very brightest ones touching the face and chest are too distracting and should definitely be toned down - as well as the bird's leg. As posted I would be tempted to crop off about half the OOF foreground.
EXP and SH good. Agree as noted above, esp. with Daniel's comments. In addition, if the image had been made when the bird's head was turned a bit more towards you the light angle problem would have been far less problematic. As is, the bird's face is shaded. With about a 5-10 degree head turn it would have been much better if not fully lit with the light from the right.

I went to Jujuy to work for a few days with these birds but had no luck, so in the meantime while I get tiem to get back there I will enjoy this terrific shot, the water couldn't look better, light angle might not be ideal but IMO it doesn't look bad at all, the bird's details are very well shown here, BIG BIG congratualitons!
I agree with your comments, I also think that it would have been better if there was some more water under the bird. But it was impossible to shoot it from higher point of view because I was too close and standing up would have scared it.On my screen the white spots don't seem that bad,but it is an old model and not calibrated.Unfortunatly the dipper didn't turn it's head to me,that's why a part of the face is in shade.Best regards, Piotr.
I like the image a lot Piotr. You know that I love the white circles in the FG and BG with the exception of the ones that are overlaping with the head and withe breast of the bird. A little bit of fill flash maybe produced a better result in the shadows. Very good job
