A nice image with beautiful bg,pose and wing position,
the size is too small, why only 23 KB?

It is a strange thing Manos, I first uploaded and when I saw the image I was disappointed. I did another image and as usual resized for web at 200KB (definitely) - this is the result??? I will try yet again

Jon, the bird has a really nice position but is not sharp enough at the head and eye. It appears that focus acquisition was on the body and that panning did not freeze the bird's motion at 1/600. Hopefully, you can spend lots of time with these owls as you got nice and close!

Lovely outstretched outerwing, and love the colours and pattern. Well captured Jonathan.

I have removed the image and sent another - to all intents the same shot, somehow this one has uploaded a larger size, I still have the original and I have checked - it is almost exactly the same size. I am reasonably happy with the current one - so all comments welcome - thanks

This one looks much better, I popped in for a look about an hour ago when this was first uploaded and it looked soft.
Like the position of the owl banking over and the two tone B/G...

I've got a couple that have turned up on my local patch, love watching these birds hunt.

This is better. My comment was on the image there earlier today.
