I was shooting a feeding frenzy in Viera wetlands, not paying close attention to the exposure compensation and ruin most of the pics. I like this one, but I feel that I maybe pushing the whites to hard.
Lovely flight pose and gorgeous lighting. Good exposure too. I agree a little cleaner BG would be nice but that is not always possible. Your timing was excellent and many thanks for sharing Raul.
I became victim of the syndrome of setting my camera for a particular condition... picking up the camera and forgetting to reset the settings, once a lot action started I forgot to pay any attention to the settings.
The very brightest streak on the shoulder should be easy to fix. If the details are not there you can "borrow" some of the neighbouring feathers around it via the clone stamp at about 10-12% opacity. The rest of the whites look great...especially the near wing! I don't mind the black stuff at bottom of the frame, but the ones behind the wing are distracting. Great wings-down pose :-)
Really lovely in flight shot. I'm finding the image as a whole too dark. Even with the +1/3 EC you recovered the details very nicely (forgot to change settings myself more times than I care to admit). Here's an edit with the midtones brought up some and local contrast added (USM 5,100,0). I patched out some of the floating bits in the water as well. I love the wing position and light in this shot. Good capture.
