    This bird is very rare in the Netherlands. Onley during winter we may encounter one.

    Olympus E3, Zuiko ED300 F2.8, Zuiko 2.0 converter, 600mm focuslength, 1/1000sec, F8, ISO400, +1 stop.

    I like comps that have the wings stretched from cnr to cnr. Great light showing up the underside of the wings, and overall nice and sharp. Well captured Alexander.

    I like the diagonal comp and eye contact but would probably try and reduce the size of the catchlight and maybe a little more selective sharpening on the bill and head.

    Seems like you had fun at the oostvaardersplassen Alex! Lovely shot, with a nice headturn, en nice detail underneath the wings. Would maybe try to lighten the shadow area under the left wing a bit more, otherwise great shot!
