I took many photos of this guy and I think he's telling me; "enough already!" Afternoon light and no way to get lower but I like the colors and his expression.

C&C encouraged and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Hi Katie! Excellent sharpness and color. You've got a nice reflection; I'd include the whole thing if possible. I would also crop a bit off the left. Too bad about the angle, but sometimes there's nothing you can do.

Hi Katie Not sure what was on the duck's mind but a penny for his thoughts :)

Since you had to shoot from a high angle might as well take advantage of the nice reflection and include !!! Also like the shadow detail a lot, not an easy bird to expose !!

    Hi Katie,
I like the fine feather details, and the color rendition. I like the facial expression on this little guy. The blue tones of the water compliments the subject well and makes him stand out. Agree with Mr. Forns' comment on the reflection....as far as the steep capture angle; yes, its a bit high, but perhaps this was the best angle that you had...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Here is the dilemma! As you can see from this original, the head reflection is distorted, so I chose to keep part of it but also considered cropping more from the bottom---not showing any of the head reflection. What would be best in this case? As always, I thank you for your comments and suggestions!

crop more off the bottom? just enough to remove the bill? fantastic clean up job in PS. and super exposure. this is a classic case where a burst of shots may have yielded one without a distorted head. i have started doing that lately. at least three shots and choose!!

    Hi Katie,
Back to your great details. Exposure looks VG. I would include the reflection as that is just the way it is turned out. Eye looks great.

Hi Katie - lovely details and colour -agree with the comments on the angle, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
