    Default Sunset Eagle

Caught tan eagle on the nest as sunset was approaching. I used an EOS 40D, 500mm f/4 lens with a 1.4X extender on a tri-pod. Settings were: 1/800 shutter speed; f/11; AV mode; evaluative metering; exposure comp -2/3; and ISO 500.

This time I had the right sun angle and an eagle on the nest. For everything else..... there is Master Card!

James, I love Bald Eagles and he looks like a great one! Can't tell if whites are hot-but I'd check that-Congratulations! the nest is a nice touch

James, yes, I'm pretty sure the head of the eagle is "hot." In fact, the entire image feels just a little over exposed, including the twigs in the nest.

You sure did get a great action image, though and to have such a clear view of him...you had to have been jumping up and down with delight!

As for the composition, I'd take a bit off the bottom (you don't need all that nest) and a bit off the left side so he doesn't feel so centered in the image.

As for the Mastercard, if you have room left this close to Christmas I'd say that's about as rare as this image of the Eagle! :D:D:D

Thanks, I'll check for exposure and hot spots. Sorry, the Master Card is full.
