:)Hello guys, hectic days not much time to shoot:)
I don't know what to do with this one, the composition confuses me, the subject is bull eyed in the picture. There is not much PP, just sharpening and curves. I like it as is, but I suspect that is not correct:confused:.
Thank you very much for your time and advice.

    Hi Alberto,
Welcome back...haven't heard from you in a long time...good to have you back. Your composition is fantastic...I like the up close and in your face pose. The color rendition on your bird is superb. you have sharp details and a very good head angle with a crystal clear, sharp eye. I did a few modifications to the base image to enhance it. I took the yellows and the blue tones of the background and desaturated or toned them down just a tad...because you want the background to compliment the subject in a soft pleasant way. I also blurred and liquefied the background hues, to blend in the colors that transition softly into one another. I gave your bird a good brushing of his bill; he needed to brush and clean his bill after lunch...its good dental hygiene...:) I then opened up the blacks in the shadow areas and in the mid-tones on the bird's body; selective sharpened the eye just a notch more, and selective sharpened the prominent areas and the contours on the feathers in portions of the body...see if this presents well with you...
You did very well Alberto...proud of you...all it needed were minor tweaks...

I don't see anything wrong with the composition my friend. I do like what Gus did as far as toning the image down a little. Image is sharp and you have excellent head angle.

Very, very nice, Alberto! I really like what Gus did to the BG because it really played up the bird. Great shot!

Alberto like the original comp. don't think there was anything wrong with it either. Gus's repost makes it look even better. Well done!

How about cropping tighter, crop the right even if it means cropping off part of the bird? After that, crop some of the left, too ;)

I like the original crop also but you're right - it's very centered. If you don't mind losing a bit of the bird, you can do a tighter crop, leaving room on the left for him to "look into."

Nice crop Jules !!! I like the tighter crop since it places the eye in such a good position !!! Nothing wrong with the original, just a different look !!! Softer light would have been nice !!! Doing well Alberto !!!

I like the OP by a mile over Julie's crop. Sorry Jules. And kudos to Gus for an excellent repost, esp. the bill clean-up. In the OP, there is much more room in front of the bird than behind so it is not a bullseye COMP.... There is about 3X more room from the bill tip to the frame edge than from the feathers on the back of the head to the other frame edge....

    Hi Alberto
Thought I might try something a wee bit different.
    1. Reduce contrast.
    2. Slight crop.
    3. Darkened highlights with "Color Variations"
    4. Slightly sharpened.
    Cheers: Ian Mc
