    Hi All,
    Here's one from yesterday at one the very few "ponds" in Las Vegas. Comments and critiques welcome and appreciated. Thank you for looking.

    Canon 40D; Av f5.6, 1/640; Eval 0; ISO 400 and 100-400 @340mm.

    I love the eyes on these guys- nice composition w/ good details! Love this!

    Nice framing Katie and the BG is beautiful. The eye really stands out. Might be tempted to just lighten the shadow on the neck a bit.

    Hi Katie,
    I like the composition and capture. You have a nice crystal clear eye. You have to remember to watch and track the light angle; you were shooting in very harsh light. The whites are pushing the envelope at 255. You need to tone them down just a tad. I like the background; which compliments your subject well giving you a beautiful contrast between both tones of blue and gray. Looking forward to your next one...:cool:

    good to see you around katie!! i would try to add some density to the bird. the bg is wonderful!! and i love the eye!!

    Hi Katie Do like the pose and look !! Need softer light for these guys and watch your light angle, difficult to bring the back of the neck to life !!! btw for these if you have a good bg you can afford to close down the lens !!!
