    Default Quetzal Vertical Pano

Just returned from a trip to Costa Rica and some cooperative quetzals.
This image was created with a 500 mm lens, but the tail wouldn't fit, so I made a second image of the tail and stitched the two together in Photomerge in CS3. Comments appreciated.

Fantastic. Good thinking with the merge. Love all the curves and the pose. Were you with Todd? Great bird, perch, and colors.

Beautiful bird, the vertical Pano really works well.

Great Quetzal Susan! And, I think it's great that you had the presences of mind to shoot for the photomerge automation! In that type situation, you could also have shot a little to the left and a little to the right and ended up with a huge, high res. image of a beautiful bird! I love the color and sharpness also!

Cool bird, pose, details and good idea to merge the images, the result looks very good. I'd love to go there sometime.

Thank you, All, and thanks, Artie for your kind words. Yes, indeed I went with Todd Gustafson. He helped us nail the quetzals and the weather cooperated.
