Default Test Shots From 5d Mark II

Here's my first test shot. Taken at ISO 3200

    5d Mark II with 24-105L at 65mm
    handheld
    f/4.0
    1/40

I only took about 20 shots. I'll post some more shortly. I like that when you change the DOF it changes the ISO rather than the shutter speed. I shot this pic in JPG as Lightroom does not recognize the new raw yet. ACR 5.2 for PS CS 4 does however. This is straight out of the camera with no editing or noise reduction. Let me know if you're interested in bigger file.

    Here's another test shot

I did not notice the black spots that some people have written about re: next to blown out spots. I inspected the Xmas lights in the pic and did not notice the spots.

This image is also at ISO 3200 f/4 1/25 @ 24mm. However, this is from the raw file. Converted in PS CS 4 and saved as TIF.

Noise looks really good for 3200 ISO, but because you shot jpeg we will never know how much noise reduction is automatically applied. Or is there way to totally turn off any noise reduction even when shooting jpeg? Either way, even if there was some noise reduction, it did excellent job. Detail is very nice and sharp.

the last shot was shot raw. I converted to tiff and loaded into LR.

Denise, I'm going to try to go out tonight to the boat parade which can only be shot with existing light so we'll see how it does.

The black spots are quite evident in the first image. I am not particularly concerned about them. Canon as indicated that the will have an announcement about them soon, favorable according to Rob Galbraith. I wish I had the time and conditions to try mine out up here, but it has been rather cold and I haven't been able to get out.

Mike, I hate to say it but your crop does shows the black pixel issue, just look at the row of lights below "Samba Room" mine certainly shows the black pixel problem.:D
