This is from earlier this year. It's by way of saying thanks to Nonda for posting her fabulous 'Hop, Skip and Jump' shot which I love to bits. You do like squirrels don't you Nonda?

    40D + Sigma 300mm 2.8. Aperture Priority + 1/3 ec. ISO 800, f5 @ 1/500 sec.

C&C encouraged and welcomed as always.

    Cheers.

    Hi Sean,
I like the little guy...he is placed just right in frame...you have sharp details and good color rendition. The eyes are nice and sharp. I like the up close in your face pose. My only suggestion would be to tone down the whites in the flowers in the foreground. they are running a wee bit hot. I like the composition and capture ..well done...

Cool! Yes I quite like squirts and thank you for the lovey image.

I love the 'look', great eye contact, super fur detail and good color! (the face and feet are just great) The daisies are an added treat. The only thing I wish is there was a bit more room on the bottom for the left foot (viewing left).

    BTW its a female;)

BTW: During WWll I used to visit London every 5 weeks on leave from Bomber Command . . . Lots of birds in London back then all listening to Vera Lynne . . .

What is this critter eating? There is a red crumb near its mouth and a bit of red on the daisy immediately below.
Interesting how the dof plays in this image. I agree that the oof daisies in the foreground, particularly those directly in front of the squirrel are a distraction. My mind's eye wants them in focus. The focus seems to start to fall off on the squirrel just past it's elbows (do sq's have elbows?). So all this mumbling is suggesting to me that I wish there was more dof overall.
I agree with Nonda about the left foot.
Is this the squirrel species that there is so much concern about in the uk?

    Hi Sean,
Nonda has really started something. Love the field of daisies. Just what the heck is the squirrel eating, looks like PBJ (peanut butter and jam)!
