I enjoy creating blurs especially when you have 100s if not 1000s of chances at a place like Bosque. This was made at the N crane pool a week or so ago.
Created in camera, the only PP in PS was curves and slight crop. I used 9000K in camera to overcome the blue light and give the image a realistic color. The translucent rim light was created by backlighting.
I should add that the BG tones above the dark line are dry grass and the tones below the line are reflections in a pool of water.
The slow shutter speed really smooth out the background and make the subject stand out.
Gorgeous lighting, Robert! The crop is a tiny bit tight for my personal tastes but that still doesn't detract from a beautiful blur image. This is definitely a keeper.

Julie, i agree about the framing since the birds is in a vertical position in a horizontal frame, but its not a crop its FF, so I am just glad I didnt clip anything :-)
