Love the intense look on this cat. Great action captured. Sharpness and exposure look good.

    Chris,

Great job on capturing this image. Great sharpness and DOF on the cat.

I would have like to seen a bit less flash as it looks flashed. Also would have liked to see more room in the front of the cat. The rat's paws are touching the edge.

I would have preferred a little less flash too, but other than that, it's an excellent shot in all aspects. Very well captured.

    Chris,
Nice action. I like the sharpness, as always. Intense looks. If you could have moved a little bit towards your left then it would have been great. The oof hind portion at the top right would have been covered up. Look forward to more from the series.

I like it as presented Impressive image !!! Chris when using the flash you can fire a quick three exposure burst and will actually give you flash bracketing. First will be full (setting) second capacitor has not fully charge but fires and third no flash !! With flash is difficult to predict and have found this approach beneficial !!

    Alfred,
I can relate to your suggestion. I had heard a similar suggestion last year from National Geographic Staff photographer Ed Kashi. When you fire the flash repeatedly, then the output varies and in the sequence you find some without flash as well. At times, you may like one or the other.

Wonderful image with exciting action and behavior and I love it as posted as it seems to emphasize the drama with the tighter crop.

    Chris,

This is stunning with amazing clarity and detail. The eyes are mesmerizing. A little burning-in would really put this over the top and negate the slightly flashed appearance.

    Congrats.

    Best,

    Chas
