Shot with Canon XT, 70-200 + 2x, ISO 400, Aperature priority f5.6, 1/100 with tripod. I almost never shoot at higher than ISO 400 with the XT because of increased noise.

Hi David, nice looking warbler. The redstarts are among my favorites. As is, I find the angle a bit steep, and the head angle not the best (he's looking away). I'd also be tempted to raise the colour temp just a bit. BTW, I just upgraded from the XT this year...still have it, still use it (e.g. for macros), and still use ISO 800 if the situation calls for it. Your favorite noise reduction software should take care of the BG noise adequately if you should choose to use ISO 800 ;-)

Daniel, thanks for your input. I too have upgraded the XT to a 40D which has essentialy no noise problems. I warmed the shot to reduce the blue cast on the bill and feathers. Is this what you had in mind?

    Warmed repost a definite improvement.

The repost is really nice, though agree with Daniel on the head angle. I'm also noticing several dust spots (e.g. near edge of image on upper right side, and left side straight across from the birds bill).

    Cheers, Dean

Thanks Dean. Never noticed the dust spots. An easy fix.

Much better David! Look at how much more natural the perch's colours are. The redstart looks alot better too. Exactly what I had in mind :-) Now to get one with a better head angle...
