    Default Goshawk in Flight

This was the next frame in the camera from the previous shot.

Made the frame the same size and tried to process exactly the same way as the previous one. Does it look better with a higher head angle and more of the wings showing?

    C & C appreciated

Jackie, I really like this head-on shot. I love the intense look of concentration. Birds of prey are my favorites. Great job !

Good job, Jackie! I have one suggestion in this alternate image and that's to calm down or clone out the one darker stick/line that is running just to the left of his head. My eye keeps getting pulled away from that gorgeous bird and it wouldn't really be a difficult clone. You'd still have the bird in its natural environment.

Jackie - Thanks for posting both images taken in such close proximity in time. There is more "stealth" to the bird in the first image (I think). The bird seems on the attack, flying in low, just above the grass. The whole body and wings are flatter. In the second image, I think the bird is starting to lift upward. It's head is raised and we see more underwing. I am guessing it is about to pull up and land.
I think the technicals on both images are good. It is a matter of what you are trying to portray. My personal vote goes to the first posting because of the fierceness of the bird which is one big characteristic of goshawks..
    Cheers
    Gail
