Hi All,
This image was captured late today, early evening and there was one opening in the sky with the final light of day...I really was hoping for a bird to fly by and just got lucky....hope you like it and all comments and suggestions welcomed...(the reduced image really takes away from the quality of the full image which shows much better!)
Best,
Michael

Very good image Michael !! I like the wing position bg and overall feather look Did well with the flash compensation I would crop some from the bottom since I like having more room in the travel direction .. up !!
btw you shouldn't be having problems with the posted size? Check the images in Artie's newsletter... outstanding and mostly 45 kb !!!!
Really nice image captured well Michael. I think a crop off the bottom would strengthen the image too, giving the bird more room to fly into. I might also be tempted to sharpen the head a tad more...though this may be due to the issues you've mentioned about quality after posting. Great work!
Michael... Sorry! Is this the Japanese Crested Ibis ("Nipponia nippon" Latin name) I just can't see the back of the head on your image. the reason I ask is because they are extinguished here in Japan. They brought some from Chine and they are breeding them in an island (Sado, Niigata Prefecture). just this year they released 10 of them for the first time but they are not doing well in wild. Thanks!
Dear Rene'
This particular bird is the White Ibis / Eudocimus albus which is found in the southern USA and Central America.
Thank you for looking...
Mike
Unique and interesting. Good use of flash and I like the way that the bird fits into the V of the lower storm clouds. Maybe a bit off the bottom.
